Feed extruder can produce a variety of animal feed pellets. Various aquatic feeds: floating fish feed, sinking fish feed, fish and shrimp feed. Various pet feeds: dog feed, cat feed, rabbit feed, etc.As a type of feed inflating machine, fish feed extruder, including single screw fish feed extruder and double-screw fish feed extruder, is mainly designed for producing pellet feed for fish, shrimp, pets and other aquaculture. With higher feed conversion ratio, fish compound feed produced by single screw fish feed extruder can maintain high water quality of fishpond.
Extruders come in single-screw and twin-screw options. “Fish shrimp and Pet food kibble is commonly made on single-screw extruders,” explained Dave Carney, area sales manager, pet food and aqua feed, North America, Bühler, Cary, N.C. “Twin-screw extruders provide a better mix of ingredients and often make more complex shapes and designs.”
Single Screw Aquatic Feed Extruder Mill for Fish Shrimp & Pet Feed
Richi Machinery, as a well-known brand fish feed pellet machine manufacturer in China, has rich project experience in the production of fish and shrimp pet feed extruders and pellet machines. Currently we produce two different single screw extruders– dry type and wet type fish feed extruder so as to meet the ever-increasing demand for fish feed pellet production.
There is no need to heat outside the dry type machine, through the screw extruding of the raw material, heat is produced and gathered during the rotary working process in the airtight environment, and during the high temperature ripening process, the starch and fiber of the raw material become swell. Then under the pressure-tight condition, material will be formed into pellets by shaping mould. At the end, through the high pressure produced by the regular rotating of the screw, after being cut by the forepart cutter which rotates regularly and high-speedily, the finished products will be shrunk and become small average puffed balls in room temperature and pressure.

The wet type fish feed extruder machine is widely used in making both floating fish feed and sinking feed pellets for aquaculture farms, feed mills, livestock farms and poultry farms. Different from the dry type floating fish feed pellet mill, the wet type is equipped with a boiler which can continuously steam the materials to make pellets. It is a crucial machine for making high-quality fish pellets and pet food.

Taking aquatic feed field for example, RICHI will introduce the basic functions of this machine during the process of producing fish feed pellets.◇ Dehydration function: in general, water content of feed material will loss about 4%-7% on the original basis during the process of extruding fish feed.
◇ Homogenization function: this homogenization of extruder can change the structure of unappealing raw material and make material become more acceptable form.
◇ Mixing effect: when extrusion processing, there are various screw and molds to choose, which makes extruders produce the expected mixing capacity.
◇ Sterilization function: during the process of expanding feed, the Pasteurella bacterium of raw materials can be eliminated through extrusion technology.
◇ Cohesive function: in the extrusion process, feed raw material can combine closely and condense into discrete pieces.
◇ Degassing function: blister in the raw materials of feed will be eliminated during the expansion process.
◇ Expansion effect: the operation condition and configuration of single screw fish feed extruder can control the density of pet feed and aquatic feed pellets, which is also called floating pellet or sinking pellet).
◇ Jelling function: high temperature and press extrusion process can make the starch(coming from raw material, like tuber or cereal) of fish or pet feed pellet pasting.
◇ Grinding function: in the feed material processing, raw materials will be ground to a certain extent within single screw fish feed extruder machine.
Whether you want to produce fish and shrimp aquatic feed or pet feed, the extruder can produce it. The minimum output of the extruder is 0.03-0.04t/h, and the large output can be 10t/h, 20t/h, 30t/h, no problem. The feed size produced by the extruder is between 1mm-12mm. There are many shapes of pet feed pellets, including three prism shape, triangles, cross shape, square shape, plum shape, feet shape, wafer shape, large bone shape and small bone shape.
