OVERVIEW

This 6t/h organic fertilizer processing plant in Tunisia project was invested and built by a Tunisian biological company. The company was established on February 13, 2020. It directly used an existing plant to invest in the construction of an organic fertilizer construction project, which consists of a fermentation workshop, a feeding workshop, a crushing workshop, and a finished product warehouse.

The project covers an area of 16,650m2, a construction area of 6,250m2, and a total investment of US$420,000. The project is mainly engaged in the production of organic fertilizers, with an annual output of 45,000 tons of biological organic fertilizers.

The main raw materials for production are animal manure, domestic sludge, etc. The raw materials are mixed with fermented fermentation agents, etc., and the harmful substances therein are eliminated to achieve harmlessness and resource utilization, forming a general fertilizer.

The 6t/h organic fertilizer manufacturing plant in Tunisia project started construction in March 2021 and was completed and put into production in June 2021. The construction period is planned to be 3 months.

The total staff of this project is 20 people, with three shifts, 8 hours per shift, and 300 days of work per year. A staff canteen is set up in the factory area to provide accommodation.

Physical and chemical properties of raw and auxiliary materials:

Fermentation agent

The fermentation agent used in this project is a highly efficient composite microbial agent that can quickly decompose livestock and poultry manure, crop straw, sludge and organic waste from agricultural and sideline products.

It is a microbial preparation made of two or more non-antagonistic microbial strains. It can quickly decompose organic solid piles and is suitable for a variety of different compost substrates and different organic fertilizer turning equipment.

Domestic sludge

The domestic sludge purchased by this project mainly comes from public sewage treatment plants locally and surrounding cities that are used solely for treating urban domestic sewage. The sludge produced by these sewage treatment plants usually does not have hazardous characteristics and can be managed as general solid waste. Domestic sludge, about 50%-80%.

The moisture in the sludge and filter mud will evaporate during the fermentation process, and finally meet the product moisture index (moisture content ≤30%) requirements. Due to the evaporation loss of moisture in the mud, the total amount of sludge and other raw materials will be more than the product output to meet the production capacity requirements.

The electricity for the project is provided by the municipal power supply network. The project does not have a boiler or standby generator.

Water supply

The water for the 6t/h organic fertilizer processing plant in Tunisia project comes from the municipal tap water network, mainly including water for the spray tower, laboratory and domestic water.

Drainage

The organic fertilizer pellet plant project implements rainwater and sewage diversion. Rainwater is collected and discharged into the municipal rainwater pipeline.

Process design of organic fertilizer processing plant in Tunisia

Brief description of organic fertilizer pellet process flow:

  1. Feeding:
    The raw and auxiliary materials such as manure and sludge purchased by the 6t/h organic fertilizer processing plant in Tunisia project are relatively dry, with a water content of about 50%. After the raw materials are transported to the factory area by transport vehicles, they do not need to be stored and are immediately fed into the silo.
  2. Mixing:
    After feeding, they are transported to the double-shaft mixer for mixing and mixing evenly.
  3. Transport:
    The materials are transported to the distributor via a belt conveyor, and the distributor transports the materials to the fermentation tank.
  4. Fermentation:
    The materials are transported to the fermentation tank via a belt conveyor for fermentation, and a fermentation agent (special strain) is added at the same time. No water is added during the fermentation and maturation process. The principle of aerobic microbial aerobic fermentation is adopted, so that the microorganisms use the organic matter, residual protein, etc. in the manure of poultry and livestock, and reproduce rapidly under a certain temperature, humidity and sufficient oxygen environment.
    During the reproduction process, they consume organic matter, protein and oxygen in the manure. The fermentation agent also has the function of rapidly degrading organic matter, while reducing the generation of odorous gases such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. Fermentation and maturation are all carried out in the fermentation tank, piled for fermentation, and the entire fermentation and maturation time is about 12-15 days.
    When white mycelium is produced in the pile, the material is loose and there is no original odor, it is a symbol of complete fermentation and maturation, and the fermented organic fertilizer material is obtained.
  5. Turning:
    Turn and stir the raw materials during the fermentation process to make the raw materials evenly mixed. Generally, turn and stir once every two days to make them fully fermented.
  6. Crushing:
    The fermented organic fertilizer material will have some lumps. After the organic waste material is conveyed to the entrance of the secondary aging area by the belt conveyor, the material (with some lumps) must be crushed first to make it loose.
  7. Granulation:
    Process the crushed material into organic fertilizer pellets.
  8. Screening:
    The prepared organic fertilizer granules are screened, and the sieved materials are returned for crushing, and the sieved materials meet the size requirements.
  9. Packaging:
    Part of the sieved materials are transported to the packaging machine for packaging.
  10. Finished products for sale:
    The packaged organic fertilizer is transported to the finished product area for sale.

Brief description of laboratory testing process:

  1. Sample registration:
    The samples are sent from the production workshop to the laboratory, and the samples are registered according to the sample information and entered into the system.
  2. Sample preparation:
    The samples mainly include powder samples, granular samples and liquid samples. The samples are processed to meet the test requirements.
  3. Sample storage:
    The prepared samples are stored at room temperature or low temperature according to different storage conditions.
  4. Sample pretreatment:
    The samples are first pretreated. The pretreatment process mainly includes weighing, dissolving, digesting, diluting and volume determination.
  5. Sample detection experiment:
    The final injection vial is selected with a suitable detector for on-machine analysis. This process will produce laboratory gas, glassware washing wastewater, laboratory waste liquid, waste reagent bottles, and disposable laboratory consumables.
  6. Data processing and result reporting:
    The data automatically generated by the instrument and equipment are processed and counted, and the final test results are archived.
