Biomass fuel pellet Process design

The product of this 300kg/h straw wood biomass pellet production line in Nigeria project is biomass pellets, and the main production process includes purchasing incoming materials, crushing, pulverizing, feeding, pelletizing and other processes. The production process of the project is as follows:

  1. Incoming materials: The raw materials of the project are mainly taken from Lingling District and its surrounding areas and transported to the factory by car. A small amount of wet materials need to be naturally dried indoors first, and large pieces of debris need to be manually screened to remove them. The wet materials of the project are mainly a small amount of miscellaneous firewood. After being naturally dried indoors for 1-2 days, they are crushed and pulverized, and dry materials such as husks and sawdust are mixed according to the degree of wetness. The natural drying time is short and it is not easy to produce bad odor.
  2. Crushing and pulverizing: The raw materials of this biomass wood pellet production line in Nigeria project are of different sizes. Among them, miscellaneous firewood, straw and bark need to be crushed first. After being transported to the factory by car, they are first crushed to a qualified particle size (about 3-5cm) by a chipper machine. The crushed particle size is large and it is not easy to generate dust. After crushing, they are mixed with sawdust and husks for further crushing by biomass wood pellet hammer mill.
  3. Feeding: The crushed and pulverized materials are transported to the silo via a belt conveyor. Dust is generated during the feeding process.
  4. Granulation: The dried raw materials are compressed and granulated into biomass pellets by a biomass pellet machine. No additives are required during the molding process. The temperature in the biomass wood pellet machine is controlled at 110~120℃, the compression time is 1-3S, and the compression ratio is 4.2.
  5. Cooling: The temperature of the discharged biomass pellet fuel is as high as 80~90℃, the structure is relatively loose, and it is easy to break. It must be naturally cooled to room temperature before it can be sent to the silo.
  6. Packaging: The molded biomass is packaged after natural cooling. The molded biomass pellets and biomass rods are small in size and heavy in specific gravity, and the packaging process basically does not generate dust.

Project material balance

This wood straw pellet production line in Nigeria project produces 2,500 tons of biomass solid molded fuel annually, requiring 3,336 tons of miscellaneous firewood, straw, and sawdust as raw materials. Some of the incoming materials such as miscellaneous firewood are wet materials and need to be dried.

The moisture content is relatively high, about 25%. The moisture content of the finished product is controlled at ≤13%. The moisture content of the finished product of this project is controlled at ≤13% (moisture content is about 10%). According to the material balance calculation, the annual water evaporation is 824t/a, and the rest is discharged in the form of impurities (iron filings, stones, mud and sand) and dust solid waste.
