Project construction content

The biomass straw wood pellet factory in Malaysia project utilizes existing factory buildings and land. The project covers a total area of about 1,800 square meters. The project constructs a steel structure factory and renovates an existing steel structure factory.

The total construction area is about 1,200 square meters, including raw material warehouse, finished product warehouse, crushing process, crushing process, drying process and granulation. Process, etc. The project construction content is detailed in the table below.

Public works

Water supply

The water used in this biomass straw wood pellet factory in Malaysia project is supplied by the municipal pipeline network. The water used during the operation period is mainly for employees' domestic water and water bath dust removal water replenishment.

Drainage

The rainwater and sewage of this project are separated. The rainwater is collected in the rainwater ditch in the factory area and discharged into the surrounding water channels, and finally into the local river; the dust removal wastewater of the project is recycled and not discharged.

The domestic sewage is treated in the septic tank and then enters the sewage pipeline network, and is discharged after being treated by the sewage treatment plant to meet the standards. The wastewater discharge volume is 80% of the total water consumption, and the wastewater generation volume is 232m3/a (0.928m3/d).

Power supply

biomass wood pellet production Process design

  1. Raw material purchase:
    Purchase raw materials (waste scraps, straw, etc.) from the market and transport them by vehicle to be temporarily stored in the raw material warehouse.
  2. Pretreatment:
    Manually screen the raw materials to be crushed and pulverized to remove impurities such as iron flakes that may be mixed. The construction unit reported that the raw materials for this project do not need to be mixed with water.
  3. Crushing and pulverizing:
    Since the biomass raw materials such as waste wood are large in size and cannot be directly used for molding, the crushing process mainly crushes the waste wood with large size (diameter 1-2 meters, moisture content 30%-40%) into small particles (diameter <10cm). The pulverizing process mainly crushes the small particles further. Wood chips do not need to be crushed.
    The particle size of the crushed materials is 0.5-2cm. The material conveyor belt before crushing and pulverizing has a magnetic screening function to further remove impurities such as iron in the crushed materials. The dust generated by the crusher feed port, discharge port, crushing process, and conveyor belt discharge port is collected by cyclone dust collector + bag dust collector.
    The designed production capacity of the crushing and pulverizing process equipment of this project is 4,000 tons/month, and the designed production capacity of biomass pellets of the biomass straw wood pellet factory in Malaysia project is 2,500 tons/month. The production capacity of the crushing process of the project is 1.6 times the designed production capacity of biomass pellets.
  4. Drying and cooling:
    Since the moisture content of some raw materials cannot meet the requirements, it is necessary to use hot air furnace combustion flue gas for direct drying. This process is mainly caused by equipment operation noise and combustion exhaust gas generated by hot air furnace combustion.
    The dried material is cooled by induced draft fan and then enters the next process. The dust and combustion exhaust gas generated during the drying and cooling process are discharged through a 18m high exhaust pipe after two-stage cyclone dust removal + water bath dust removal.
  5. Granulation:
    The dry material is transported to the silo of the wood pellet mill machine through the feed auger, and the excess material is transported back to the feed port through the belt. The biomass pellet machine squeezes the dry material into rod-shaped particles through extrusion molding. During the extrusion molding process, the friction of the material generates heat. During the extrusion molding process, some water will evaporate, making the raw material ≤13%.
    The extrusion temperature is about 70-90℃, which causes the lignin contained in the raw material to soften and increase the adhesion. The softened lignin and the cellulose of the biomass work together to gradually shape the biomass. After a certain period of time, it is extruded in a cylindrical shape. The rotating cutter cuts the material and sends it out through the discharge port.
    The whole process is physical extrusion molding without adding any adhesive. After the finished product comes out of the discharge port, it is naturally cooled and the unqualified products with a particle size of less than 8mm are screened out. The qualified products are packaged and sent to the finished product warehouse.
    Unqualified products with particle size that do not meet the requirements can be used as raw materials, reprocessed, and recycled. The extrusion molding machine is fully enclosed during the pelletizing process.
  6. Packaging and warehousing:
    Qualified products from the wood biomass pellet machine are mechanically packaged and sealed, and the packaged products are manually put into the warehouse.

Plane layout

The entrance of the plant area of this wood pellet factory in Malaysia project is located on the southeast side of the plant area. From the perspective of the plan layout, the plant area is divided into 1# production workshop, 2# workshop (raw material warehouse, finished product area), office and living area from south to north.

The main layout of 1# production workshop is crushing area, pulverizing area, drying area, pelletizing area, and packaging area. The main layout of 2# workshop is raw material warehouse, finished product area, general solid waste temporary storage area, and hazardous waste temporary storage room.

The exhaust pipe of the project combustion waste gas is set in the center, and each production device is arranged on the west side, as far away as possible from the 10Kv power line on the upper corner of the east side of the plant area and the living office building and residential area near the south side of the plant boundary.

According to the general plan layout of the plant building, the entire production process of this wood pellet factory in Malaysia project is completed in the workshop, forming an independent assembly line. The plan layout of the project has achieved clear functional zoning of the plant area, so that the general plan layout of the plant area can save land.

According to the actual production needs, the production links in each production workshop of the project are arranged in different areas, so that each production process unit in each production and processing area is streamlined, so that the logistics are smooth and the flow of people is short, which meets the needs of the process flow. Therefore, the project layout is reasonable.
