OVERVIEW

Biomass pellets are a renewable new energy source. They use agricultural straw, abandoned forestry, sawdust and other raw materials through crushing, granulation and other processes to finally produce biomass pellet fuel, which is directly burned and is a new energy product that replaces coal, oil and other energy sources. The development of clean and efficient biomass energy, especially biomass pellet fuel, is imperative and has a very broad development prospect.

The client of this biomass straw wood pellet production line in New Zealand project is an agricultural company from New Zealand, which invested 420,000 US dollars to carry out the "annual production of 20,000 tons of wood pellets and 5,000 tons of straw pellets".

The project covers an area of 3,333m2 and uses existing industrial plants with a construction area of 3,000m2. This project adopts two shifts, 8 hours per shift, 300 working days per year, and 4,800 hours per year. The labor quota of this project is 26 people, including 3 administrative and management personnel.

Brief description of the pellet production process flow

  1. Chipping:
    Chipping the raw logs and straw, that is, processing the raw materials into flakes or blocks.
  2. Crushing:
    The chipped materials are crushed by a crusher, and the crushed materials are unloaded by a shaker.
  3. Drying:
    Due to the high moisture content in the raw materials, the moisture in the raw materials needs to be removed. The drying of this project uses hot air from a manual furnace as the heat source, and the drying temperature is set to 400℃.
    To prevent the materials from catching fire, flame arresters and alarm devices are installed. The dried materials are transported by an auger and temporarily stored in the workshop.
  4. Screening:
    To ensure that the biomass pellets produced in the granulation process are all qualified products, the dried materials are screened and impurities are removed.
  5. Granulation:
    Use a forklift to shovel the dried materials into the silo of the granulation system, and then use an auger to transport them to the granulation hopper for granulation. Granulation is made into finished products by extrusion molding.
    The extrusion process is a physical process, without adding any adhesives and no chemical reaction. The biomass pellet machine uses electric heating and the set temperature is about 80℃.
  6. Cooling and packaging:
    The pelletized products are lifted to the automatic weighing and packaging machine by the elevator, and naturally cooled during the lifting and transportation process. This project uses a fully automatic weighing and packaging machine for packaging.

Water supply

The water used in this biomass straw wood pellet production line in New Zealand project is mainly domestic water. The project water is provided by the local tap water network, and the water consumption is 2.6m3/d (780m3/a).

Drainage

The project wastewater is mainly domestic sewage, with a production volume of 2.08m3/d (624m3/a). After being treated in a septic tank, it is used as agricultural fertilizer and is not discharged.

Power supply

The power supply for the project is drawn from the local municipal power supply network. The annual power consumption of the project is 1.5 million kWh, which can meet the power demand of the project.

Storage and transportation

The raw materials and finished products are stored in the production workshop, and no new warehouse is built separately.

The transportation within the factory relies on manual handling or forklifts, and the transportation outside the factory is entrusted to social vehicles.

Heating
