New Zealand High-end Ruminant Grass Feed Plant Project Put Into Production

In December 2023, a New Zealand agricultural company and RICHI MACHINERY worked together to build a 20-25t/h high-end ruminant feed plant project that was completed and put into production!

The whole includes an annual production of 80,000 tons (single shift) ruminant feed production line, an annual production of 60,000 tons of powdered feed production line, an annual production of 50,000 tons of calf feed production line, as well as 1*1000 tons of corn silo, 13*250 tons of soybean meal silo, and 4*100 tons of auxiliary material silo.

The successful commissioning of this project will further provide New Zealand with high-quality ruminant feed, escort the healthy growth of dairy cows from the source, and provide a solid guarantee for the quality of milk!

The project uses large-scale ruminant feed pelleting equipment - RICHI SZLH768 feed pellet machine, which is stable, reliable and has a large output. Multi-point steam inlet conditioning, rapid feed heating, and improved maturity; optimize the blade arrangement angle, extend the conditioning time, and high feed return rate; use a gear-type transmission system with higher transmission efficiency.

The pelleting can reach the designed capacity of 25 tons/hour. Under the working conditions of 2.5 aperture, 40% high fiber and 12% high molasses addition, the production of concentrate pellets can reach 15 tons per hour.

Adding molasses to the animal feed formula can quickly replenish the energy of the animal and make the formula design more flexible. Especially in ruminant feed, molasses has a more prominent role. Its rapidly available energy can promote the benign growth and reproduction of rumen microorganisms, enhance the digestion capacity of the rumen, and increase the feed intake and conversion rate.

The production line adopts RICHI's unique process, which can not only achieve 8%-15% high molasses addition, improve product palatability and increase product nutritional value, but also solve the industry pain points such as powder agglomeration, agglomeration and mold.

According to customer needs, the RICHI engineering team designed a special calf feed production line for the ruminant feed processing project. According to the growth characteristics of calves, RICHI innovated the process to automatically mix the concentrate particles with flaked corn and flaked barley in a certain proportion, and adopted unpowered mixing to enter the molasses spraying system.

Centrifugal normal pressure spraying does not require the installation of atomizing nozzles to avoid nozzle blockage during production, resulting in insufficient molasses addition and flowery feed; high-speed centrifugal atomization, good atomization effect, high spraying uniformity; the inner wall of the spraying chamber can be automatically cleaned; double-screw dragon conveying, extended mixing time, further improved mixing uniformity, and will not cause secondary crushing of materials. The calf feed produced is clean, safe, and of good quality, which can meet the healthy growth of calves at all stages.
